Eyes On You

In the world of TV Fandom, characters in TV series are crucial in holding the interest of viewers over the course of multiple seasons. So what exactly makes a character live on in the public memory, even years after the original run of their TV programs? For some it is the depth that creators add to the character, for some it is the ‘Quirky’ habits or the ‘Girl next door’ feels that make the character memorable. Whatever the reason might be, we are sure that you, too are hooked on at least one TV series character (and have probably tried to enact them in real life.) Here is our list of some famous characters from different programs that must have caught your eye more than once!

1) Game of Thrones : Tyrion

Tyrion is perhaps most notable for being a little person, but though his height does not give him the best physical vantage point, Tyrion’s mismatched black and green eyes do not miss much. He is, perhaps, the smartest character in the novel (and is certainly at least the wittiest). He devises a way to escape the Eyrie, for instance, though it seemed impossible to do so. Tyrion also sees hard truths, and he is bluntly honest with himself, acknowledging how others see him because of his physical appearance, and with others as well, whether he is confessing his petty crimes before Lysa or giving Joff, Jon, or Tywin his advice.

He has a gift for determining other people’s motives, and he may have more in common with the legendary Lannister family progenitor, Lann the Clever, than any of the rest of his family. Tyrion knows when someone can be bought, as with the mountain clans, and when someone cannot be bargained with, as with the Starks after Joff kills Ned. Moreover, Tyrion’s dual-colored eyes are something of a metaphor for the book’s multiple perspectives, since Tyrion can see things both ways. As such, he is somewhat morally ambiguous to the reader, and though Tyrion always proclaims his love for his family, he doesn’t forgive their flaws either. Consequently, even Jaime wonders whose side Tyrion is on.

2) Big Bang Theory : Sheldon

What’s worse than a Sheldon?
TWO SHELDONS….Bazinga! :p

"I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested."
―Sheldon, The Jiminy Conjecture

Dr. Sheldon Lee Cooper, B.Sc., M.Sc., M.A., Ph.D., Sc.D., is a Caltech theoretical physicist.
Along with his best friend Leonard Hofstadter, he's one of the main male protagonists of The Big Bang Theory and is the main protagonist of Young Sheldon.
Originally from East Texas, Sheldon started college at the age of 11, receiving his first Ph.D. at the age of 16. As a kid, Sheldon was involved in numerous experiments as a "wunderkind", such as his plan to provide free electricity for his hometown by building a nuclear reactor - a plan stopped by government pen pushers claiming it's illegal to store yellowcake uranium in a garden shed. Proudly geeky, he has no qualms about speaking Klingon, wearing vintage t-shirts sporting superhero logos, or spouting various historical and cultural anecdotes (e.g., his account of the introduction of the fork into Thailand).

While he might claim to be the perfect human specimen, Sheldon does have his faults. Sheldon is characterized by a strict adherence to routine and hygiene; an overly intellectual personality; a tenuous understanding of irony, sarcasm and humor; and a general lack of humility or empathy, the former of which is demonstrated in the fact that he has no problem voicing to his peers his admiration for his superior intellect.

These qualities, along with his penchant for pranks, are his character's main source of humor. He's often considered to be the most iconic character of the show. Sheldon has developed a more human personality due to the influences of his friend Penny and his wife Amy but some of it doesn't always show up.

3) Sacred Games : Ganesh Gaitonde

Ganesh Gaitonde is a negative character, he displays ample potential and skills of a true leader. He realises very early in life that if he wants to rule over Mumbai, he has to milk every opportunity that comes in his way. Gaitonde displays exceptional skills of a leader -- he fights his fear, analyses the situation for risk and takes a bold decision to lead a team. In the 80s when the small time goons of Mumbai were busy gambling in drugs and ammunition, Gaitonde senses the big picture. He realises that the big bucks are in politics.

Gaitonde loves to believe that he's the real showman. It is normal for anyone to get carried away with success.Just when you want to believe that Gaitonde has it all sorted, the cracks begin to show. With his growing success, Gaitonde makes a few wrong decisions and ends up earning a lot of enemies. The rift between Bunty (one of his own men) and Badariya affect his business and eventually lead to his downfall.

He often keeps saying:" ΰ€•ΰ€ी ΰ€•ΰ€ी ΰ€€ो ΰ€²ΰ€—ΰ€€ा ΰ€Ήै ΰ€…ΰ€ͺुΰ€¨ ΰ€Ήी ΰ€ΰ€—ΰ€΅ाΰ€¨ ΰ€Ήैं "

4) FRIENDS - Rachel Green

Rachel is a very complicated character, but she can be described as an ESFP. She gets her energy from interacting with her friends because she doesn’t like to be on her own. She cares about trends and her appearance in the minds of others, which leads her to be constantly aware of her surroundings. She works in the fashion industry so it’s only natural for her to act this way.

Rachel thinks with her heart, which, like Ross, means that she easily gets hurt when it comes to relationships. She cares deeply for her friends and pays attention to their emotions. After Rachel leaves Barry at the altar, her life becomes extremely spontaneously and out of control because she has to learn how to survive without her dad’s money. She begins to gain some order when she achieves a steady job at Bloomingdales and then Ralph Lauren. Rachel has a somewhat low conscientiousness because she is easily distracted and tends to leave things around or forget things.

Monica specifically will not let her borrow anything because she knows that Rachel will lose it. Towards the end of the series, Rachel becomes more conscientious, however, when she gives birth to Emma and must become more organized and reliable in order to take care of her daughter

5) Breaking Bad - Walter White

Walter White defies a character title. He starts out as a broken man about to die, then the show reveals layers of envy and entitlement in his character, personified in his meth creation. He is a habitual.
There is something King Learish about Walter White, but he is no tragic hero.

When Walter started his dark descent into the world of cooking meth, his motivations were very pure.  He was trying to save a little money to help his family.  Granted, it was a plan that was born out of a combination of desperation and the desire to put his vast knowledge of chemistry to use, but it still had its roots in something good.  Or did it?  Walt had been burned out of a company he founded.  It was a decision that forever burned in his memory and made him filled with hate.  That was, in my opinion, the birthplace of Heisenberg.

His first hints are in a clothing shop when he is out with his family.  Having been diagnosed with cancer, the darker persona is creeping back in.  You truly get a good look when a bunch of bullies are making fun of his son who is suffering from cerebral palsy.  He attacks the leader of the bullies.  There are other smaller instances of his appearance, but in my opinion, Heisenberg doesn’t truly come back until the murder of Krazy-8.  Walt knows that he has to do something, but he is too weak to kill the man himself.  When he realizes that the man intends to kill him when he lets him go, Heisenberg appears.  He strangles the man to death.

6) Vampire Diaries - Damon

Damon’s physical personality is the same in the show as well as book. He is very elaborately explained in the book and for the show they found an exact replica in Ian Somerhalder.

The book describes Damon as physically very attractive. Damon has perfect, facial features: remarkably high cheekbones and a masculine jawline and chin. Due to his being an immortal vampire, he has a pale, smooth, and flawless complexion. Though his hair is less thick and luxurious than Stefan's, Damon's hair was still a marvel to behold: a dark, thick, straight, jet-black shock that fell and curtained over his forehead, and its texture was described as soft, refined, yet luxurious in its own right. His eyes are pitch-black in colour, and had been frequently described to be the colour of a black bird, or a crow, or the midnight sky( I don’t mind the ocean blue eyes of Damon in the series though)

He had a flair for expensive items and wore pricey clothes and drank expensive alcohol. While Stefan's handsomeness has a pure, innocent, and overall haunting quality, Damon's beauty is darkly sensual, lustful, and even seductive. He also has a compelling aura and an intimidating demeanor, all of which he is perfectly aware of, and he knew exactly how to utilize all of them to lure the opposite sex to him like moths to a flame.
